Easter

The day after we got back from Arizona was Easter. We made it easy and just did brunch at the Union League – a new property they have called Liberty Hill. Zoe and Maddie joined us and we met the Devine’s there. There was an Easter egg hunt and a delicious brunch. It was really chilly – especially coming back from our week the desert. But great to get everyone together again!

We had a very low key Easter this year since we’re all still under a stay at home order in Pennsylvania. We died Easter eggs on Saturday and then on Sunday morning we had a hunt in our backyard. Unlike the last few years where we get dressed up and head to brunch at the Union League, the girls didn’t even get out of their PJs until the afternoon. In general it’s been a challenge to get them dressed each day, and honestly, who can blame them! If you have the ability to wear pajamas all day, it’s hard to not do that.

This year’s spring break was pretty low key, and it was also really nice. We did a tour of the Mid-Atlantic – visiting the Townsends in Maryland, staying a few days with my family in Virginia, and then ending the week in Rock Hall with the Sharps.

We stayed with the Townsends in their new house, which is beautiful. All three girls get along really well, but Bella and Lauren are especially close.

Then we hit the road down to Charlottesville where we stayed for a few days. The weather was mostly beautiful and we took full advantage spending a lot of time outside.

Ari and the girls also get along really well, especially Ari and Lauren who are only a year apart.

We spent the last few days of the week in Rock Hall, where the weather was beautiful and we were able to hit the beach one day, and where I also neglected to take any pictures.

And we ended the week off with Easter brunch at Torresdale with the Sharps, Zoe, and Elliott.

The day after we got back from vacation was Easter. We made it very low key, with brunch at the UL Torresdale. Zoe and Elliott joined us as well.

The Easter crew.

It was chilly – so jackets went on right after this picture was taken. Where is spring?!

Easter was also Benson’s 12th birthday. Zoe and Elliott watched him while we were away, and they spoiled him with his own cake.

Here he is with his cousin, Merci from a few months ago.

Even though he’s getting up there, he’s still spry when he wants to be. Here’s a video of him with a new bone.

Two days after we got back from the Disney Cruise it was Easter.
The girls dying Easter eggs. They were interested for about 10 minutes, then I had to finish the eggs. They were beautiful 😉

That afternoon we spent at the Torresdale Golf Club for brunch and an Easter egg hunt. Here’s our mini clan (with sun in our eyes).

And here’s the whole clan: Zoe, her boyfriend Elliot and Elliot’s mom, Lydia, Dave, and Kathy. It was an absolutely beautiful day – the first of hopefully many to come in the next few weeks!

This year we went to Charlottesville for Easter. We had a little break in the cold weather – enough to have an Easter egg hunt on the campus of UVa. And another one back at Mom and Dad’s house. Never enough candy, right?

This year we spent Eastern in Rock Hall, Md. The girls did an easter egg hunt in the back yard of the Sharp’s house and made a killing. Only in the Eastern Shore can you find eggs in crab traps! Candy all day!

We spent Easter down in Virginia again this year. On Saturday we had a BBQ with a bunch of Becky and my friends and their kids. It was madness, but a lot of fun, including a piñata that Becky and Jack made.

On Saturday night Ariana was baptized at an Easter service. It was a really pretty service, with the whole congregation holding candles during the beginning part of the service. Doug and Vicki are the god parents and presented Ariana at the front of the church.

And Sunday morning there was of course an egg hunt! Here are Quinn, Carley and Sophie with their winnings…

The three cousins!

We went down to Virginia for Easter this year. It’s the first time we’ve been down there in a long while.  It was a great weekend visiting with family and friends. Sophie got to hang with the big girls when we visited with Darby, Mary & Kaylee.

Darby & Mary have pet goats and Sophie got to feed them.

Sophie and Nana dyed Easter eggs outside in the beautiful weather. Unfortunately Easter day was not so nice, but the day before was excellent and we spent as much time outside as possible.

Sophie enjoyed a solo Easter egg hunt in the yard. It was a pretty nasty day, so it was a quick hunt.

Happy Easter!

We spent the beautiful weekend in New Jersey with the Sharps. Sophie tried her hand at dying Easter eggs for the first time. While her hands ended up as colored as the eggs, she had a good time.

On Sunday we went to the Yacht Club in Cape May for an Easter brunch and egg hunt. And much to Sophie’s delight, an appearance of the Easter Bunny!

Click here for a video of the bunny encounter.

Once she realized that the eggs contained candy (“choc it”) she got into it and quickly filled up her basket. The Elmo basket was a huge hit! Thanks Mom Mom!
