The top of Lauren’s right ear never folded all the way down. After talking with the doctor, we decided to do something about it now, rather than wait until she’s older to do something or not. So, last week she got an ear mold. It’s basically a plastic piece that folds down the top of the ear, and is secured by a big glop of purple silicone. They also had to shave behind her ear, so technically she had her first haircut too. It should take about 6 weeks or so to mold into a shape like the other ear.

Hard to believe, but Sophie turned 3 this weekend! She had a full weekend filled with celebration, starting with a birthday celebration at school.

She walked around the table three times with the globe and then placed it in it’s holder. Her favorite teacher, Desiree, made her a special Birthday Crown that she wore all day.

Then we went to visit Doug, Vicki, Quinn and Carley for an early birthday dinner and ice cream cake on Friday night. On the way home from West Chester she told us that “Now I’m 3, so I won’t pick my nose anymore.” We told her how happy we were to hear that 🙂
On Saturday both families came over for a brunch celebration.

Sporting her new purple princess dress, with pink accessories.

She got two new movies, a Bugs Life and The Little Mermaid (a personal favorite)

and a new train set…
and a new scooter! She tried it out on the street. A princess, in pink sneakers whizzing down the hill.
And we finished the day with a pink cake. Happy 3rd Birthday to our sweet little girl!

This weekend my Nana, Sophie and Lauren’s great grandma, finally go to meet Lauren. She was in India for Dan’s wedding when she was born, and then spent a few weeks in Venice after that. As it so happens, she was also in Venice when Sophie was born. It’s her favorite place after all.

Lately Sophie isn’t fully dressed without a princess dress

GG brought them a book from India

One of Sophie’s teachers sent me a video from circle time and this text: “We started singing Baby Beluga at circle after rest, but quickly forgot the tune. Sophia saved circle and sang the entire song for us!” Here’s the video that she sent: http://bit.ly/UAtu8m

We’ve also learned that during art, whenever she’s asked by her teacher Patrick “who is that for?” her answer is always “not for you!” This is how one of her pieces was labeled the other day. Apparently we need to work on some manners…
